In the ongoing case against Tyler Robinson, a Utah man accused of assassinating conservative figure Charlie Kirk, recent search warrants have disclosed significant evidence that may impact the proceedings. According to reports, investigators collected DNA and cellphone data linking Robinson to the scene of the alleged shooting, which occurred on September 10, 2025.
The search warrants revealed that DNA was obtained from fingerprints and a palm print found on the roof of the Losee Center building, where Robinson allegedly positioned himself before the shooting. Additionally, cellphone data indicated Robinson's location on the day of the shooting, including a Google Maps route that directed him to an area near the Utah Valley University campus.
Further details emerged regarding a note allegedly written by Robinson to his romantic partner, Lance Twiggs, prior to the incident. In the note, Robinson expressed remorse and indicated that he had undertaken "a mission" against Kirk, stating he might not return home and urging his partner to find joy in life.
Surveillance footage captured Robinson arriving at the campus around 8:29 a.m. and later entering the vicinity of the Losee Center, where he is believed to have concealed a rifle. At approximately 12:23 p.m., while Kirk was speaking during a Turning Point USA event, a single gunshot was fired, leading to Kirk's fatal injury.
Robinson is currently facing charges of aggravated murder, among others, and has pleaded not guilty to all counts. Prosecutors have indicated their intention to seek the death penalty in this case. The investigation continues as the legal proceedings unfold.
