Tyler Robinson Arrested As Charlie Kirk's Assassin

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old, has been identified as the suspect in the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, which occurred on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University (UVU). Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced Robinson's arrest, which took place on September 11, following a tip from a family member who indicated that Robinson had confessed or implied involvement in the incident.

Robinson, who had attended Pine View Middle School and Pine View High School in Washington County, briefly enrolled at Utah State University (USU) for one semester in 2021, majoring in pre-engineering. At the time of the shooting, he was a third-year student in an electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College. His educational background included concurrent enrollment credits through Utah Tech University while in high school.

Investigators utilized surveillance footage to confirm Robinson's presence at UVU shortly before the shooting. Reports suggest that he had recently become more politically engaged, and family members recalled conversations where Robinson expressed negative views about Kirk. Additionally, investigators recovered a Mauser Model 98 rifle, which had been concealed and was linked to Robinson.

Governor Cox commended law enforcement and community members for their swift action in apprehending Robinson, acknowledging the role of his family in providing crucial information. He expressed condolences to Kirk's family and described the incident as a tragic event for both the state of Utah and the nation. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the events leading to the assassination.
