Russian President Vladimir Putin has recently announced plans to deploy the Satan-2 missile in the coming weeks. This missile is capable of travelling at almost 16,000 mph and has the potential to reach targets up to 1,600 miles away in as little as six minutes. Furthermore, it can carry up to 15 warheads, allowing for multiple nuclear strikes in a single attack. The first test of the missile was conducted back in April and Putin claims that it can “break through any defences”.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is currently in Washington DC to meet with President Joe Biden and address Congress. The White House has declared that diplomacy and defence capabilities will be the main focus of their discussions. However, the Kremlin has stated that peace talks with Kyiv are unlikely.
Overall, President Putin's plans to deploy the Satan-2 missile and President Zelensky's visit to Washington DC are both important events that could have significant implications for international relations. As 15 year olds, it is important to stay informed of current geopolitical events, as they may affect our lives in the future.
