Mega Millions jackpot increases to $714 million

The Mega Millions jackpot has increased to an estimated $714 million following the latest drawing on Friday night, where no tickets matched all six drawn numbers. The numbers drawn were 11, 18, 31, 51, 56, with the Mega Ball being 24. The previous estimated prize for Friday's drawing was $680 million.

Despite the absence of a jackpot winner, 482,430 tickets won across various lower prize tiers, contributing to a total of over $11.7 million in winnings from the drawing. The jackpot has been on the rise since it was last won on June 27, when the prize was $348 million.

The current jackpot is noted as the ninth-largest in Mega Millions history. The two highest jackpots recorded were $1.602 billion in 2023 and $1.537 billion in 2018. The cash value of the current jackpot is estimated at $334.1 million.

Mega Millions tickets are available for purchase at a price of $5 each across 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET. The odds of winning any prize are approximately 1 in 23, while the odds of securing the jackpot stand at 1 in 290.5 million.

As the jackpot continues to grow, interest in the game remains high, and players are encouraged to check their tickets for possible wins in the lower tiers as well.
