Luigi Mangione shouts ahead of UnitedHealthcare murder extradition hearing

Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old man accused of fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, appeared agitated and yelled at reporters outside the Blair County Courthouse in Pennsylvania before his extradition hearing. Mangione, a University of Pennsylvania graduate, was led into the courthouse in shackles by police officers as he struggled against their hold.

During the hearing, Mangione refused to waive his right to challenge his extradition to New York City, where he faces murder charges in Manhattan Supreme Court. The judge denied bail for Mangione, who will remain in a Pennsylvania prison pending the outcome of the extradition process.

Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after police recognized him as the person of interest sought by the New York Police Department. He is also facing criminal charges related to his possession of a 3-D printed handgun and silencer found in his backpack, as well as fake identification documents.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, but Mangione reportedly wrote in a note that "these parasites had it coming." The incident has shocked the public and raised concerns about security and safety in public spaces.
