Iranian airstrike damages Israeli hospital amid ongoing missile exchange

A missile strike attributed to Iran has resulted in damage to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, Southern Israel, leaving 71 individuals with minor injuries. The broader missile barrage has affected several neighborhoods in Tel Aviv, with Israel's health ministry reporting a total of 271 people injured, four of whom are in serious condition.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz condemned the actions, claiming that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, should be held accountable for the strikes, which he characterized as war crimes. Iranian state media, however, stated that the missile strike aimed at a military command center near the hospital, resulting in collateral damage.

In retaliation, Israel has conducted missile attacks targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military sites, with the Israel Defense Forces reporting significant casualties in Iran due to these actions. According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency, 639 people have been killed in Iran since the onset of the conflict, including both civilians and military personnel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to respond decisively to the threats from Tehran, while Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir described the situation as a historic moment to defeat Iranian ambitions. Both officials emphasized an increase in military action against strategic targets in Iran.

The conflict has drawn international attention, with discussions surrounding potential U.S. involvement. President Trump has indicated a willingness to consider military action against Iran, while Khamenei warned of severe repercussions for any U.S. intervention. Russia has also expressed concerns about the escalation of tensions resulting from potential American involvement.
