DOJ releases 30,000 additional Epstein documents with Trump accusations

The Justice Department made public an additional 30,000 documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. This release follows a significant document drop on Friday that included photos of former President Bill Clinton with Epstein. The Justice Department characterized some claims within the newly released documents as “untrue and sensationalist” concerning President Donald Trump, which were submitted to the FBI prior to the 2020 election.

The department emphasized that these claims lack credibility and have not been utilized as evidence against Trump, suggesting that if they were substantiated, they would have been leveraged politically. The documents encompass a variety of materials, including news articles, emails, and court filings. Notably, one email from a federal prosecutor mentions Trump as a passenger on Epstein's private plane multiple times between 1993 and 1996, with one instance listing only Trump and Epstein as passengers.

Another document included allegations against Trump from a Dallas limousine driver, who claimed Trump made concerning remarks in 1995, though these claims were deemed unsubstantiated by the Justice Department.

Trump has dismissed inquiries related to the Epstein case as a political ploy orchestrated by Democrats, asserting that there is no evidence of wrongdoing on his part during interactions with Epstein. He has previously stated that he banned Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago estate and has criticized the timing of the document releases, suggesting that any credible allegations would have been disclosed before the 2020 election. Following the signing of a bill to release Epstein-related documents, Trump expressed his belief that further connections between Epstein and Democratic figures may soon come to light.
