Wrexham joining 7-on-7 tournament in North Carolina

Wrexham, a fifth-tier Welsh club owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, will be joining the 32-team tournament organized by TBT Enterprises in June. The tournament is offering a $1 million prize to the winner and will be held in Cary, North Carolina.

The tournament will feature teams from around the world, including Necaxa from Mexico, teams organized by former U.S. captain Clint Dempsey and U.S. women's team midfielder Heather O’Reilly, and Hashtag United, a British site founded by YouTube personality Spencer Carmichael-Brown. Wrexham's team will include club legends from the “Welcome to Wrexham” documentary series on FX.

Wrexham is currently second to Notts County in England's National League, hoping to gain promotion to fourth-tier League Two. Should they win the tournament, the club has stated that they plan to use $500,000 of the prize money for community work.

The tournament will take place from June 1-4 and promises to be an exciting competition to watch. With teams from all over the world competing, it is uncertain who will take the grand prize of $1 million. However, it will be a great opportunity to see some of the world's best soccer players vie for the top prize.
