Wrexham eliminated from FA Cup

On Tuesday, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Wrexham Football Club had their hopes of a fifth round FA Cup match-up with Tottenham and star striker Harry Kane dashed, losing their fourth round replay 3-1 to Sheffield United. Despite the loss, Reynolds and McElhenney, who have helped to turn the club around since buying it in 2020, still expressed pride in their team. Reynolds tweeted to his 21.1 million followers that he was “so proud of these boys and the 4000 plus away supporters who gave it all.”

On the same day, fourth-tier Grimsby had an unexpected 3-0 win over Luton, a fourth-place Championship team, and will now face Premier League Southampton in the fifth round. Second-tier leader Burnley and third-tier Fleetwood also won their replays and will meet for a place in the quarterfinals. The final fourth-round replay takes place on Wednesday, when second-tier Sunderland hosts Fulham of the Premier League. The winner will play Leeds in the fifth round.

It was certainly a heartbreaker for Wrexham Football Club, but they can take pride in their success this season, which included a second-round victory over second-tier Coventry and a fourth-round replay that nearly ended in a win. With their stars' support, the Welsh soccer club will continue to strive for glory in the coming season.
