Universal plans new Orlando attraction to compete with Disney's theme parks

Universal Epic Universe, the newest theme park in Orlando, Florida, is set to open in 46 days, with a scheduled launch date of May 22, 2025. Currently, the park is conducting operational tests for team members, their families, and media representatives. A recent preview highlighted the park's design, which includes five immersive worlds featuring a variety of shopping, dining, rides, and experiences.

At the center of Universal Epic Universe is Celestial Park, described as the "heart" of the park. This area boasts lush gardens, pathways, and attractions, including the intense roller coaster Stardust Racers and a carousel named Constellation Carousel. Celestial Park serves as the main hub, connecting guests to the various themed lands such as How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and Super Nintendo World.

The park also features the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a 500-room accommodation with a dedicated entrance to the park. Universal Destinations and Experiences, the park's operating unit under Comcast NBCUniversal, ranks fourth among global theme park operators, following Disney Experiences, which remains the leader.

As the summer season approaches, competition between Universal and Disney is expected to intensify. Disney has announced that all six of its parks will be open simultaneously for the first time since 2019, with various promotions on tickets and new shows. Universal Orlando Resort currently encompasses Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay, in addition to the forthcoming Epic Universe.
