Trump praises Elon Musk amid renewed criticism of the 'big, beautiful bill.'

In a recent interview with Fox News, President Donald Trump expressed his admiration for Elon Musk, referring to him as a "wonderful guy." This comment comes despite Musk's ongoing criticism of Trump's proposed spending bill, which he claims could have disastrous economic consequences. Trump acknowledged a rift between them, particularly after Musk posted a now-deleted tweet linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, describing that behavior as "not appropriate."

When asked about Musk's frustrations, Trump suggested that Musk's concerns stem from the electric vehicle (EV) mandate, stating, "I don't want everybody to have to have an electric car." Musk, who recently criticized the latest version of Trump's bill on his social media platform X, argued that it would "destroy millions of jobs" and impose significant taxes on renewable energy projects that have not yet begun construction.

Musk's discontent with the spending bill is not new. Earlier this month, he labeled a previous draft as a "massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill" and called it a "disgusting abomination." He urged lawmakers who supported it to reconsider their votes, asserting that they "know you did wrong."

The latest iteration of the bill is being prepared for delivery to Trump by Senate Republicans. Musk's critiques highlight a growing tension between him and Trump, particularly regarding economic policies and their implications for the future of industries tied to renewable energy and electric vehicles. As the debate continues, both figures remain influential in their respective spheres, with their interactions drawing attention from various sectors.
