Timbaland launches AI entertainment company, introduces TaTa as first artist

Timbaland, the renowned Grammy-winning producer, has launched a new AI entertainment company called Stage Zero, with its first signing being an AI pop artist named TaTa. Co-founded alongside Rocky Mudaliar and Zayd Portillo, Stage Zero aims to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and music. This venture introduces what Timbaland describes as a new genre, "A-Pop," which stands for AI Pop.

Timbaland emphasizes that TaTa is not merely a digital avatar or character; rather, she is an autonomous music artist powered by AI technology from Suno AI. His vision extends beyond traditional music production to encompass the creation of entire systems, narratives, and new star personas. He believes that TaTa represents the beginning of a new generation of musicians.

Rocky Mudaliar elaborated on this concept, stating that future artists may not be solely human but will also involve intellectual property, coding, and robotics, reflecting the evolving landscape of the music industry. Timbaland has been a vocal supporter of AI's role in music, noting that advancements in technology have significantly accelerated the production process, allowing for rapid creation of high-quality music.

In a recent interview, he remarked on the transformative potential of AI in music, indicating that what previously took months can now be achieved in days. This shift, he suggests, marks a significant evolution in how music is produced and consumed. Through Stage Zero and TaTa, Timbaland aims to pioneer this innovative approach to music, positioning A-Pop as a significant cultural development in the entertainment industry.
