'The Last of Us', 'Succession', and 'The White Lotus' nominated for Emmy Awards

The 75th Emmy Award nominations were announced today in a ceremony featuring actor Yvette Nicole Brown and Frank Sherma, Television Academy Chair. HBO's Succession received the most nominations with 27, followed by The Last of Us with 24. The White Lotus and Ted Lasso, both HBO series, received 23 and 21 nominations respectively. In the comedy category, shows such as Abbott Elementary, Barry, The Bear, Jury Duty, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Only Murders in the Building, Ted Lasso, and Wednesday are in the running for the top prize. On the drama side, nominated series include Andor, Better Call Saul, The Crown, The House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, and Yellowjackets. Limited or Anthology series nominated include Beef, Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story, Daisy Jones and the Six, Fleischman is in Trouble, and Andor.

HBO and HBO Max received the highest number of nominations, followed by Disney+. A total of 38 actors received their first Emmy nomination, including Jessica Chastain, Taron Egerton, Jenna Ortega, and James Marsden. Murray Bartlett and Alex Borstein received multiple nominations this year. The 75th Emmy Awards, celebrating its anniversary, will be broadcast live on FOX on September 18th. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are scheduled to take place at the Peacock Theater over two consecutive nights on September 9th and 10th, with an edited presentation airing on September 16th on FXX. The nominations highlight the importance of the performers, producers, writers, directors, and all those who worked on television programs in the past year.
