Pavel Durov, CEO and cofounder of the messaging platform Telegram, recently disclosed that he has fathered over 100 children. In an interview with the French publication Le Point, Durov stated that he is the official father of six children from three partners, with the remainder conceived through sperm donations across 12 countries. He emphasized his intent to treat all of his children equally, asserting that they will all have the same rights to his wealth, which is estimated at nearly $14 billion.
Durov has stipulated that his children will not inherit any of his fortune for 30 years, a decision he made to encourage them to build their own lives independently. He expressed a desire for them to develop self-reliance and not to depend on financial inheritance. The entrepreneur, now 40, cited the risks associated with his work and the potential threats he faces from powerful adversaries as the reason for creating a will at this stage in his life.
In addition to his family revelations, Durov discussed his professional life and recent legal troubles. He faced arrest last year in France over allegations of complicity in criminal activities on Telegram, charges he has denied. Durov noted that this situation has affected his ability to travel freely, a circumstance he continues to navigate.
In a comparison with Elon Musk, Durov acknowledged their differences, stating that he operates a single company while Musk manages multiple ventures. He also shared insights into his fitness routine, which includes rigorous exercises and a strict diet devoid of alcohol, caffeine, and sugar. Durov's lifestyle choices extend to outdoor activities, such as winter swimming in colder climates.
