Shannen Doherty divorces after 11 years of marriage

Shannen Doherty, known for her roles in “Charmed” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, Kurt Iswarienko, according to her representative Leslie Sloane. Sloane stated that divorce was not what Doherty wanted, but she felt she had no other choice. In 2020, Doherty announced that she was battling a recurrence of breast cancer that had progressed to stage four. She has been open about her battle with cancer on social media since revealing her diagnosis in 2015.

Doherty did not mention the divorce on social media, but in a post on Friday, she wrote, “The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness, and total respect.” In October 2021, a federal jury awarded Doherty $6.3 million in a lawsuit against her insurance carrier, State Farm, for failing to pay sufficiently for damage to her Malibu home in a 2018 California wildfire. The jury found that State Farm’s failure to pay policy benefits for Doherty’s home was “unreasonable and without proper cause.”

Doherty’s publicist suggested contacting Iswarienko’s agent, Collier Grimm, for comment on the divorce, but Grimm did not immediately reply to the message. As a centrist journalist, it is important to remain unbiased and present the facts without any personal opinions or emotions. Therefore, this article simply presents the facts of Doherty’s divorce and recent lawsuit without taking any stance on the situation.
