Neymar’s future at Paris Saint Germain is uncertain, with reports suggesting he could be offloaded for as low as €50mn ($53.5mn). Meanwhile, his teammate Lionel Messi is reportedly considering leaving the club at the end of his contract. Recent reports from Catalan newspaper El Nacional have accused Neymar of “stabbing Messi in the back”, with the suggestion that he is staying at PSG to prevent Messi from doing so.
Messi is said to be considering a move to Inter Miami in the MLS. His father and agent, Jorge, has said that he does “not think Leo will play for Barca again”. This comes as Barca are under pressure to shave €200mn ($213mn) from their wage bill in the coming months.
Although such accusations against Neymar seem harsh, it is likely both South Americans will leave the club in the coming year. Financial Fair Play regulations have brought Messi to PSG, but now look as though they will take him away from the club.
