Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek are set to reunite for a new four-episode run of the popular sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle” on Disney+. The show, which originally aired in 2000 and ran for seven seasons, follows the life of a genius young boy named Malcolm, played by Muniz.
In a video message, Muniz expressed his excitement for the reunion, stating that he has been waiting for this moment for 18 years. The new episodes will be crafted by original series creator Linwood Boomer, promising to deliver the same laughs, pranks, and mayhem that fans loved from the original series.
President of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis, expressed confidence in the creative team and hinted at surprises that will remind viewers why the show is considered timeless. No air dates for the new episodes have been announced as of yet.
“Malcolm in the Middle” originally aired on Fox and ended in 2006, winning seven Emmy Awards during its run. The show currently streams on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. The new episodes will see Malcolm and his daughter drawn into his parents' chaos as they demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.
