This fall, fans of The Beatles can anticipate the release of new content celebrating the band's legacy across various media platforms. The 1995 documentary "The Beatles Anthology," which chronicles the band's journey from their beginnings in Liverpool to global fame, will be re-released in a remastered format. This updated version will include a new ninth episode, set to stream on Disney+ starting November 26. The new episode features behind-the-scenes footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr discussing their experiences during the series' production in the mid-1990s. Giles Martin, the son of the band's original producer, has produced new audio mixes for much of the music featured in the documentary.
In addition to the documentary, an album titled "Anthology 4" will be released on November 21, alongside remastered versions of the first three albums. This new album will include 13 previously unreleased demos and session recordings, as well as updated mixes of the band's singles "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love." The original music video for "Free As A Bird" has also been restored.
Moreover, a 25th anniversary edition of "The Beatles Anthology Book" is set to be released on October 14, featuring contributions from all four Beatles and several collaborators.
As part of the ongoing celebrations, four feature films directed by Sam Mendes, each focusing on a different member of the band, are also in development. The lead roles will be played by Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan, and Harris Dickinson, representing McCartney, Harrison, Starr, and Lennon, respectively. These projects highlight The Beatles' enduring influence and cultural significance.
