Leonardo DiCaprio questioned by FBI over fugitive contact

Recently, Leonardo DiCaprio has been linked to fugitive businessman Jho Low, who has been accused of stealing billions from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) sovereign wealth fund. Documents obtained by Bloomberg in 2018 revealed that DiCaprio and Low first met in a nightclub in 2010 and quickly became friends. Low is reported to have given DiCaprio lavish gifts and financially supported his 2013 film "The Wolf of Wall Street". Other celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries, and Miranda Kerr, have also been connected to Low.

DiCaprio has stated that he was unaware of Low's source of wealth and that he relied on his representatives to vet Low before they entered a business relationship. In 2015, when news of Low's alleged crimes emerged, DiCaprio began to distance himself from Low. The actor's lawyers met with the FBI in 2017 to turn over any gifts received from Low and the relationship has since ended.

It appears that Leonardo DiCaprio's connection to Jho Low has caused a stir in the media. While Low's alleged crimes have yet to be proven in court, DiCaprio has said that he was unaware of Low's source of wealth and sought to distance himself from Low once news of the alleged crimes came to light. DiCaprio's representatives are reported to have met with the FBI in 2017 to hand over any gifts from Low and the two have not maintained a relationship since then. It remains to be seen if Low will be found guilty of any wrongdoing and what the repercussions for DiCaprio will be.
