Kieran Culkin recently won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "A Real Pain," further solidifying his status as a top contender in the film industry. This victory follows his earlier wins at the Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Screen Actors Guild awards, making him a notable figure in this award season.
During his acceptance speech, Culkin expressed admiration for fellow nominee Jeremy Strong, his co-star from the acclaimed HBO series "Succession," and praised Jesse Eisenberg, who collaborated with him on "A Real Pain," calling him a "genius." The speech took a personal turn when Culkin humorously referenced a pledge he made at the 2024 Emmy Awards regarding family expansion.
He recalled jokingly stating that he wanted a third child with his wife, Jazz Charton, if he won an Emmy, to which she reportedly agreed under the assumption he would not win. Following his Emmy success, Charton reminded him of her earlier comment and jokingly pledged to have four children if he won an Oscar.
Culkin concluded his speech by playfully urging Charton to "get cracking on those kids" while expressing his love for her. The couple, married since 2013, currently has two children, Kinsey Sioux and Wilder Wolf.
In addition to his recent accolade, Culkin is set to return to the Broadway stage in a revival of "Glengarry Glen Ross." The performance schedule has been adjusted to provide him with more family time as he balances his professional commitments with parenthood.
