In the early hours of Friday morning in Las Vegas, rapper Kanye West went on a rant about Hitler and Jesus Christ. He was filmed yelling in a crowded room after his rave was shut down by police. During his rant, he also claimed that Jewish people own all the banks, hospitals, and private schools in Los Angeles.
In addition to his controversial statements, West also mentioned his daughter, North, claiming that she had ripped up couches to be able to attend his Vultures album launch on Thursday. North had previously joined him onstage to perform a verse from his new album.
West also called out Drake, Jay Z, and his former business partners, Adidas, during his rant. He mentioned his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, saying, "Kim, this is what you've been waiting for." Kardashian and West finalized their divorce in November 2022.
The rapper, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, walked out of his own event earlier in the evening and was seen storming out of the venue. Attendees had paid about $2,000 per ticket and were expecting surprise guests.
Earlier in the week, West faced criticism for wearing a KKK-style black hood onstage at a Vultures listening party in Miami. Critics thought it resembled the white hood associated with the Ku Klux Klan.
This is not the first time West has faced controversy. Last year, he made antisemitic remarks and wore a "White Lives Matter" T-shirt to a fashion show, resulting in the loss of fashion deals.
Overall, West's recent rant in Las Vegas has generated significant attention and backlash due to his controversial statements.
