Justin Bieber announces 'Swag II' release date is Friday

Justin Bieber has announced the surprise release of his new album, “Swag II,” set to drop on Friday. This follows the unexpected launch of his seventh studio album, “Swag,” which was unveiled in July after a series of promotional teasers on billboards and social media. The pop star shared the album artwork for “Swag II” on Instagram, featuring a pale pink background and the album title prominently displayed, contrasting with the black background of its predecessor.

In his post, Bieber included an image of himself with his wife, model Hailey Bieber, and their infant son, Jack Blues Bieber, captioning it with “Swag II Tonight Midnight.” The details surrounding this new release remain scarce, mirroring the lead-up to “Swag,” which consisted of 21 tracks exploring themes such as love, life, and fatherhood. Notable songs from “Swag” include “Daisies,” “Go Baby,” and “Devotion,” showcasing a blend of alt-R&B and personal reflections.

Prior to these recent albums, Bieber had not released new music since 2021's “Justice.” In 2023, he sold the rights to his entire music catalog, which includes major hits like “Sorry” and “Baby,” to Hipgnosis, a U.K.-based music investment company, although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As anticipation builds for “Swag II,” fans are left to speculate about its content and how it may continue to reflect the artist’s evolving musical journey. The surprise nature of the release aligns with Bieber’s recent approach to music, keeping fans engaged and eager for more.
