Jeff Bezos is now the world's richest person with $200 billion

In a recent development, Jeff Bezos has once again overtaken Elon Musk to become the world's richest person with a $200 billion fortune. Bezos' wealth is largely attributed to his ownership stake in Amazon, which was valued at $167 billion on Monday. The Amazon founder has seen a $23 billion increase in wealth this year as the company's stock has risen by about 15%.

Aside from Amazon, Bezos also holds a stake in Blue Origin worth about $15 billion, with an additional $18 billion in cash. He recently sold $8.5 billion worth of Amazon stock, further adding to his wealth.

On the other hand, Elon Musk has experienced a decline in wealth, losing $31 billion so far this year as Tesla's stock price has dropped by 28%. Musk's net worth currently stands at $198 billion, with a significant portion coming from his $77 billion stake in Tesla and $71 billion stake in SpaceX.

Following Bezos and Musk, Bernard Arnault, owner of luxury goods company LVMH, holds the third spot with a net worth of $197 billion. Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates round out the top five richest people in the world with net worths of $179 billion and $150 billion, respectively.

The fluctuation in wealth among the world's richest individuals underscores the volatility of the stock market and the impact it can have on personal fortunes. As Bezos regains his position as the wealthiest person in the world, it will be interesting to see how these rankings evolve in the coming months.
