Fox News tops Prime Time ratings over CNN and MSNBC

The latest cable news ratings report reaffirmed Fox News Channel’s dominance in the cable news ratings race. The network delivered an average total audience of 2.121 million viewers, while also claiming 89 of the 100 highest-rated telecasts and the title of most-watched network in all of cable television. MSNBC finished in second place, with an average prime time audience of 1.079 million viewers, and CNN was the 12th highest-rated cable network for the week among total viewers.

The Five was the highest-rated cable news program for the week ending January 29, with an average total audience of 3.362 million viewers, while Tucker Carlson Tonight took the top spot in the key demo, with an average audience of 473,000 viewers. Fox & Friends also easily outdistanced its counterparts on MSNBC and CNN in the cable news morning show race, delivering an average total audience of 1.286 million viewers. Meanwhile, Gutfeld! outranked ABC and NBC’s late night shows, delivering an average total audience of 1.82 million viewers.

These ratings demonstrate the continued success of Fox News Channel, as the network is able to attract large audiences across the day and night. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues in the weeks to come.
