Jared Leto Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations Featured in Newly Released BBC Documentary
Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto is facing allegations of sexual misconduct presented in a BBC documentary released Wednesday. Four women interviewed for the film allege that conduct described by the broadcaster as criminal occurred when they were teenagers. Leto has denied all allegations.
The documentary, “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” includes accounts from 10 women concerning alleged experiences between 2002 and 2016, when Leto was in his 30s and early 40s. The BBC says some accounts were supported by messages, photographs, and statements from friends or relatives who were informed at the time.
The women, identified by pseudonyms, describe separate encounters. One says she was 17 when Leto allegedly assaulted her in Las Vegas in 2002. Another alleges that he made threatening sexual comments during a 2013 hotel-room meeting, prompting her to leave. A third says she was 17 when she began visiting Leto’s home and had sex with him. A fourth says Leto initiated sexual communications after meeting her at a modelling agency when she was 16 and later sent her a non-disclosure agreement, which she declined to sign.
The documentary follows earlier reporting. In June 2025, Air Mail published allegations from nine women involving unwanted advances and other misconduct between 2006 and 2012. The BBC says it has identified more than 120 online allegations concerning Leto’s behaviour toward women. Representatives for Leto previously denied those claims.
In a statement distributed to several media outlets, Leto said he had never sexually assaulted anyone and called the documentary’s claims “absolutely and categorically false.”
