Disney invests $1 billion in OpenAI and will allow their characters to be used in Sora

As part of the agreement, Disney will enable the creation of short, user-generated videos featuring over 200 of its iconic characters from franchises such as Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars. The AI-generated content will become available to users starting in early 2026. Additionally, Disney plans to purchase enterprise licenses for ChatGPT for its employees, further deepening its relationship with OpenAI.
