Chiefs and Eagles both valued in billions for Super Bowl LIX

Super Bowl LIX is set to take place this Sunday, featuring a matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. Both teams are valued at multi-billion-dollar figures, with Forbes estimating the Chiefs’ worth at approximately $4.85 billion and the Eagles at $6.6 billion as of 2024. This marks a significant increase in value for both franchises, with the Eagles’ valuation rising by 2,550% since Forbes began tracking NFL team values over two decades ago, while the Chiefs have seen a 1,790% increase.

In terms of rankings, the Eagles hold the eighth position among NFL teams, while the Chiefs are ranked twenty-fourth. Both teams lag behind the Dallas Cowboys, valued at $10.1 billion, who, despite not making the playoffs this season, remain the most valuable franchise in the NFL.

Historically, the Chiefs and Eagles have faced each other once in a Super Bowl, during Super Bowl LVII, where the Chiefs emerged victorious in a close game, winning 38 to 35. Should the Chiefs win again, it would be their fourth Super Bowl title and their third consecutive win. Conversely, a victory for the Eagles would secure their second championship.

Both team owners have attributed their successes to a combination of talent, coaching, and organizational culture. The anticipation surrounding Super Bowl LIX is notable, with tens of thousands expected to attend the game in person and many more watching from home.
