Boardroom by Kevin Durant launches sports advisory firm for entertainment

NBA superstar Kevin Durant and his business partner Rick Kleiman have announced the launch of a new advisory firm called Boardroom Advisory. This firm, which is a part of their media company Boardroom, will work with athletes, executives, and brands to create business and sports ownership opportunities, as well as develop content and more, according to a press release.

Durant stated that Boardroom Advisory is a natural extension of the brand and a way for them to bring their resources to other athletes. This move follows a trend of superstar athletes venturing into the sports media and entertainment industry. For example, LeBron James' video production company SpringHill recently reached a valuation of $725 million after selling a minority stake to investors. Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, known for his social media influence, has a $1 billion lifetime deal with Nike.

Durant and Kleiman founded Boardroom in 2019, which covers the business aspects of media, sports, and music and produces original content. The company's investment portfolio includes over 100 early stage investments in the sports and business space. Durant, a 13-time NBA all-star, has played for several teams, including the Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Brooklyn Nets. He is currently a member of the Phoenix Suns, while Kleiman serves as his long-time manager. The two also co-founded 35V (35 Ventures), a sports, media, and entertainment company, in 2016.
