Bill Clinton: "I saw nothing and did nothing wrong regarding Epstein."

Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee regarding his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender. In his prepared remarks, Clinton asserts that he was unaware of Epstein's illegal activities during their social interactions and flights together. He plans to emphasize that he "saw nothing and did nothing wrong," stating that even with hindsight, he did not observe anything alarming that would have prompted him to act differently.

Clinton's testimony comes amid scrutiny over the committee's decision to subpoena both him and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He criticized the committee for involving Hillary, who he claims has no recollection of meeting Epstein or being aware of his crimes. In his remarks, Clinton expressed his discontent with the necessity of her testimony, arguing that she had no connection to Epstein and should not have been summoned.

The House Oversight Committee has also not sought testimony from President Donald Trump, who had a prior friendship with Epstein. Trump has recently stated that newly released documents from the Department of Justice absolve him of any wrongdoing related to Epstein. These documents were made public following a bill that Trump initially opposed but ultimately signed into law after recognizing its passage was inevitable.

Epstein was arrested on federal charges of child sex trafficking in July 2019 and died in a federal jail shortly thereafter. The ongoing investigations and testimonies surrounding Epstein continue to draw attention as various figures are called to account for their past associations with him.
