Bezos denies $600M wedding rumors

Billionaire Jeff Bezos has denied reports that he is planning to spend a whopping $600 million on a star-studded wedding to his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez. The rumor originated from an exclusive Daily Mail report, which cited anonymous sources claiming the lavish wedding was set for December 28th at actor Kevin Costner's Dunbar Ranch and sushi restaurant Matsuhisa.

Fellow billionaire Bill Ackman called the dollar figure "not credible" and questioned the validity of the report. Bezos, who is worth an estimated $238.5 billion, responded to Ackman's tweet, refuting the price tag and implying that there is no wedding planned for next weekend. He cautioned against believing everything one reads and warned against being gullible.

Bezos and Sanchez have been engaged since May 2023, with their relationship spanning nearly five years. Both have prior marriages, with Bezos having split from Mackenzie Scott after two decades. Bezos, the second-richest man in the world after Elon Musk, owns The Washington Post and aerospace company Blue Origin.

Sanchez, a New York Times best-selling author and Emmy-award winning journalist, serves as the vice president of the Bezos Earth Fund. Blue Origin did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the wedding rumors.

In conclusion, Bezos has denied the reports of a lavish wedding, emphasizing the importance of fact-checking and cautioning against spreading misinformation. As the speculation surrounding the alleged extravagant event continues, it remains to be seen whether the outlets that reported on it will issue corrections when the rumored wedding does not take place.
