Apple TV+ confirms 'Ted Lasso' will return for a fourth season

"Ted Lasso," the acclaimed dramedy centered around an optimistic American soccer coach in London, is set to return for its fourth season, as announced by Apple TV+. The show, which debuted in August 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, gained popularity for its light-hearted approach and compelling characters.

Jason Sudeikis, who stars as the titular character and serves as an executive producer, hinted at the theme of the upcoming season, suggesting that the AFC Richmond team will explore the idea of taking risks with the mantra "LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK." However, Apple TV+ has not provided specific details about the release date or the current production status of the new episodes.

The character of Ted Lasso was initially introduced by Sudeikis in 2013 as part of a promotional campaign for NBC Sports' coverage of the English Premier League. His portrayal of a clueless coach generated humor, leading to the character's development into a full-fledged series with the assistance of Bill Lawrence, known for his work on shows like "Scrubs."

Over its first two seasons, "Ted Lasso" garnered critical acclaim and won seven Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series. The show also elevated the profiles of its supporting cast members, including Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, and Juno Temple.

As anticipation builds for the new season, fans of the series will be eager to see how the narrative evolves and what new challenges await Ted Lasso and the AFC Richmond team.
