Andrew and Tristan Tate, known for their controversial online presence, are now under investigation by Florida authorities shortly after returning to the U.S. from Romania. This investigation, announced by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, follows the Tates’ ongoing legal issues in Europe, where they face serious allegations including human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
In a post on social media platform X, Uthmeier stated that his office would collaborate with law enforcement to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the Tate brothers. He indicated that search warrants and subpoenas have been issued as part of this active investigation, although specific details regarding the nature of the allegations have yet to be disclosed.
The Tates, who arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after Romanian prosecutors lifted a travel ban related to their ongoing sex trafficking case, have publicly maintained their innocence. Andrew Tate emphasized to reporters that they have no criminal record and have not been convicted of any crime.
Uthmeier’s office has highlighted that the investigation was initiated due to the Tates' previous admissions of engaging in exploitative behavior. A spokesperson for Uthmeier stated that Florida does not tolerate such conduct. Additionally, the Tates are facing a lawsuit from a Florida woman who claims they sexually trafficked her, a charge they deny, suggesting it is a false accusation.
The brothers are also dealing with legal troubles in Romania and the U.K., including allegations of tax evasion and sexual aggression, with potential extradition on the horizon for Andrew Tate. The legal proceedings surrounding the Tates continue to evolve as investigations unfold.
