Amber Heard describes smear campaign against Blake Lively as 'horrifying'

Actress Amber Heard recently spoke out in response to allegations made by Blake Lively against actor Justin Baldoni, drawing parallels to her own experience facing smear tactics during her defamation battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp. Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment on the set of their film "It Ends With Us," leading to tension between the two during the film's promotional tour.

Lively's complaint claimed that Baldoni enlisted crisis management publicist Melissa Nathan to launch a "retaliatory social manipulation campaign" to alter the narrative surrounding the alleged conflict between the actors. Lawyers for Baldoni and his production company denied the allegations, calling them "categorically false."

Heard, who had been represented by Nathan during her legal battle with Depp, expressed solidarity with Lively's situation, highlighting the destructive impact of social media and the prevalence of online harassment she faced during her defamation trial.

In the aftermath of the trial, Depp was awarded $15 million in damages, while Heard received $2 million in compensatory damages for her counterclaim. Depp described the jury's decision as giving him his life back, while Heard criticized the verdict for perpetuating public shaming of women who speak out.

Heard subsequently relocated to Spain to escape media scrutiny following the high-profile case. The allegations made by Lively against Baldoni serve as a reminder of the complexities and challenges faced by individuals navigating the entertainment industry.
