COVID fines total at least $15M

3,614 tickets were issued between January and August and the most common offence was travellers entering the country without a pre-arrival test. These fines vary from $825 to $5,000 and have been issued in provinces across the country. The Public Health Agency of Canada website notes that nearly 19,000 tickets have been handed out for federal quarantine violations since the pandemic began, though it is not clear how much of this money has been paid.
