On Wednesday, Under Armour announced the appointment of Stephanie Linnartz as its new CEO. Linnartz was most recently the president of Marriott International and will take up her new role on February 27. She arrives with a wealth of experience in corporate leadership, digital and technology, as well as loyalty programs.
Under Armour's revenue has grown 8% to $5.6 billion in its last two years, while Nike's revenue increased 25% to $46.7 billion. To help the company close the gap with its competitors, Linnartz will receive an annual base salary of $1.3 million, plus a bonus equal to 165% of her salary. It's hoped that her appointment will help Under Armour strengthen its digital presence and become a stronger competitor to its rivals.
