On June 16, 2025, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump unveiled Trump Mobile, a new cell phone service touted as "all-American," at an event held at Trump Tower. The flagship product, the T1 Phone, was announced with a price of $499, and approximately 600,000 customers reportedly placed $100 deposits for the device, which was scheduled for release in August 2025.
However, nearly nine months later, there has been no launch, and the Trump Mobile website has removed any specific release date. Initially set for summer 2025, the expected date has been postponed multiple times, with the website now lacking a definitive timeline. Additionally, the terms of the preorder deposit have been revised, clarifying that the deposit does not guarantee the purchase or availability of the device, and Trump Mobile is not liable for delays due to supply chain issues or regulatory hurdles.
Initially, the Trump brothers emphasized that the T1 Phone would be manufactured in the United States. However, this claim has since been retracted, and the company now describes its products as "designed with American values in mind," leading to confusion regarding the actual production location. Experts note that the only American-made smartphone available at the time, the Liberty Phone, retails for $2,000, raising questions about the feasibility of Trump Mobile’s pricing and production claims.
The T1 Phone is advertised as a gold device featuring a 6.78-inch touchscreen, a fingerprint sensor, AI Face Unlock, and a 50-megapixel camera. Despite design changes, the phone continues to attract customer interest, with deposits still being accepted through the waitlist. TIME has reached out to Trump Mobile for further clarification.
