SpaceX successfully launched 28 Starlink V2 Mini satellites into orbit from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 7:49 a.m. EDT, marking the 23rd flight for its first-stage booster. This booster has previously been utilized in multiple missions, including Crew-5 and numerous Starlink launches.
Following the launch, the first-stage booster is scheduled to land on the droneship "Just Read the Instructions," stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. This reusable technology is a key aspect of SpaceX’s approach to reducing costs in spaceflight.
With this latest addition, the Starlink constellation now includes over 6 million customers across 140 countries, territories, and markets, providing broadband internet access. The launch on August 31 was notable as it represented the 14th Falcon 9 mission in August alone, underscoring the company’s increased launch cadence.
SpaceX continues to expand its satellite network, which aims to offer internet services globally, particularly in areas with limited connectivity. The company’s ongoing efforts in satellite deployment highlight its commitment to enhancing broadband access worldwide.
