During Apple's "Glowtime" event, CEO Tim Cook unveiled the latest iPhone lineup, the iPhone 16 series, which he described as the first iPhones designed specifically for Apple Intelligence and its breakthrough capabilities. The lineup includes four versions: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Pre-orders for the new models will open on Friday, with the official release date set for September 20. The base model iPhone 16 will be priced at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus will cost $899. The higher-end models, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, will be priced at $999 and $1,199 respectively.
The phones will be powered by A18 chips to support Apple Intelligence and other features, with the Pro models getting a Pro version of the chip. Display sizes range from 6.1 inches for the base model to 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.
Apple also introduced two new buttons on the iPhone 16: an "Action Button" and a "Camera Control" button. The Action Button allows users to perform various functions with just a press, such as recording a voice memo or opening the Calendar app. The Camera Control button provides instant access to the camera and allows users to adjust camera features with a simple touch.
