Cooluli Recalls 250,000 Minifridges Following Fire and Burn Reports
Cooluli is recalling 250,000 10-liter and 15-liter minifridges after reports that units smoked, sparked, melted, overheated or caught fire, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall addresses an electrical switch short circuit that may create fire and burn hazards.
The company has received at least 19 incident reports, including property damage at more than $80,000. One consumer reported a smoke inhalation injury, the agency said.
The affected appliances were sold through Amazon.com and Cooluli.com between January 2019 and October 2024 for $80 to $120. Models covered by the recall come from Cooluli’s Infinity, Classic, Glow Beauty and Vibe product lines.
Recalled units have an internal power supply and two power inputs—one AC and one DC—rather than a single DC port. They were available in several colors and patterned designs, with “Cooluli” printed on the front. Covered batch numbers range from 1535 through 1545 and from 1200000 through 1202080. Model and batch information appears on a label inside the refrigerator door.
The CPSC advises consumers to stop using affected minifridges and contact Cooluli for a free replacement power cord. Consumers can check eligibility on the company’s recall website by entering the model and batch numbers.
Owners of recalled units will be directed to unplug the appliance, cut its power cord and submit photographs showing the identifying label. Cooluli will then provide a replacement DC cord and a permanent sticker designed to cover the AC port.
The minifridges were manufactured in China by Ningbo Iceberg Electronic Appliance Co., Ltd. and imported by Lisse USA LLC of Brooklyn, New York.
